Your Journey

Journey Highlights – Yerevan

Begin in Yerevan, reflecting at the Armenian Genocide Memorial, exploring iconic

landmarks, and experiencing Armenian cuisine through hands-on culinary master classes.

Foundations of Christian Armenia

Visit Garni Temple overlooking the Azat Gorge, bake lavash with a local family, and explore

Geghard Monastery, carved into living rock.

The Spiritual Heart of Armenia

Visit Etchmiadzin Cathedral, St. Hripsime Church, and the ruins of Zvartnots. Optional time

with a local priest for reflection or blessing.

Visit Khatchkars

Armenia’s most iconic expression of Christian faith carved in stone—both art and prayer, meant to last centuries.

  • Purpose: Often erected as memorials, acts of faith, or to mark events—thanksgiving, protection, remembrance of the dead, or community milestones.

  • Design: A central cross surrounded by lace-like carvings—rosettes, vines, pomegranates, suns, and interlaced knots. No two are exactly alike.

  • Meaning: The cross symbolizes salvation; the surrounding motifs represent life, eternity, and resurrection.

  • History: Found across Armenia and historic Armenian lands, with masterpieces dating from the 9th–13th centuries, though the tradition continues today.

Zvartnots Cathedral

  • Architectural breakthrough: A centralized, round design with soaring columns—centuries ahead of European Romanesque forms.

  • Symbolic location: Positioned where King Trdat III is believed to have met St. Gregory the Illuminator, linking Armenia’s conversion to Christianity directly to the site.

  • UNESCO World Heritage Site: Recognized for its global architectural and historical significance.
